I strongly believe that throughout your professional career, it is important to enrich your practice by reading as many business-related books as you can. By engaging with the practices of others as described in their own words, you enable your perspectives to expand and evolve.
Because I read as much as I can, I often borrow books from the public library. I am a huge fan of the Vancouver Public Library (VPL) because its collection of business materials is so large. Before purchasing another business-related book, consider checking to see if it is available at a local public library first. You’ll find yourself leaving with even more than you expected!
I haven’t reviewed every book that’s listed on this page, but I certainly do recommend that you read them.
For the Job Hunter:
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
- Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell
- What Color Is Your Parachute? 2010 A Practical Manual for Job-Hunters and Career-Changers
For the Networker:
- Never Eat Alone and other Secrets to Success, One Relationship at a Time by Keith Ferrazzi
- What Makes You Tick? How Successful People Do It – and What You Can Learn from Them
Right now, I’m reading Daniel H. Pink’s A Whole New Mind.
